This is my first article. I’ve always wanted to be read, share my ideas and be heard. Thus, I realized that this platform was perfect for me. However, I don’t want you to be passive and listen to me, as if written words were unquestionable. Although I am the one who is writing, I will present myself as a reader. Before I typed the title, I was exactly in your same position, so I will like to tell you how should you continue to read the next paragraphs and my next articles.

Written words present themselves as timeless, steady and premeditated. Furthermore, in our impatient society who gets tons of information every second is very difficult to analyze and question ourselves if we agree or not. In most cases, our brain just takes the easiest, laziest and low-energy-consuming path, in which everything that we think is right is what we agree with and continue reading. What we disagree with is not worth our time and not worth understanding. Thus, writings seem to be the established truth. This perception is completely wrong.

If you want to find the closest understanding of truth, you must start by asking questions, instead of memorizing statements. You must add new perspectives to the facts and interpretations of the facts that you read. As you keep doing this process, you will realize that you have even more questions. In this way, I would sat that somehow, getting lost is how you find yourself. Moreover, it is a simple way to acquire a more empathetic behaviour with the others. An attitude, that I will argue latter, our world is thirsty of.

Though this might seem too much for a single article of a few words, it sums up into a two invitations for any person who reads anything, including my writings. First of all, dare yourself to read words to which you know you will disagree with. For example, when you know that an author contradicts your ideas, give it a chance and try to listen to this other perspective. It might even raise your rage, but you would know precisely why do you feel anger, disappointment or even fear. There is always a knitted story that makes sense under specific circumstances and that might be underweaven to the common sense.

The other invitation consists on challenging your soulmate writers. It is very common to read the words that are printed in your head. Specially with creative works, I find myself identified in the fictitious characters that know exactly how do I feel. Though this is difficult to do when we are talking about emotions and sometimes we just want to be understood in another dimension, it is also enriching to see yourself in the blurry mirror that portrays the thoughts that you were unable to express, and ask yourself where did those ideas emerged from.

All in all, just try to have a conversation with your readings. As I am assuming the role of the writer right now, I am the single one who is exposing her arguments and the two-people-discussion seems fake to me, and I guess you realize that. But even if our debate stocks in your head and I never have access to it, stop it just until you have asked yourself enough questions. I hope you can keep reading like this my second, third, fourth and even my fifth article that I wish to publish someday. Goodbye, dear reader.
